This was my first crack at life drawing with colors. I used (ridiculously) soft pastels which were really really tough to control, it can get very frustrating. Anyway hopefully ill have something a little more creative in days to come.

Its amazing how much a piece will change throughout the creative process. This was more or less my thumbnail blown up to a workbook sized image, the design and tones were thought out a little more, but the final painting looks nothing like this at all, but its a good thing!

Weekly Life Drawing: Don Quixote

This week's life drawing session was a Don Quixote theme. The model was great, as well as the costumes. It was such a nice evening that we all went outside to draw for an hour or so.....this session was a much needed change of pace to the shitty week of drawing that I had.

Last week I was in Boston watching history be made as the Bruins won an electric game 3 against the Vancouver Canucks 8-1....needless to say, it was worth missing a life drawing class.

I'm taking a Life Drawing class in Toronto this summer with some Sheridan friends....its such a learning experience, the gas and the cost of the class is nothing in trade for what I'm experiencing. Hopefully the ol' 98 Accord holds up through the summer and next year!

Some creatures for a creative exercise in Life Drawing class. Our assignment was to research animals, mythological beasts, or whatever and combine a human with an animal in a pose that the model took. Pretty cool, eh? (ya Im Canadian, what of it)
